Coming off his win on MTV's "Rock the Cradle", Crosby Loggins has been recording his new upcoming release at the famed Village Recorders in Los Angeles. L.R. Baggs A&R guy, John Mooy came down to the studio to do the guitar tech and setup work for him and was excited to watch as Crosby and producer John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Rachel Yamagata) worked some amazing magic. With Jesse Sebenberg (Kenny Loggins, Supertramp) on guitar, Sean Hurley (Alicia Keys, Vertical Horizon) on bass, and the infamous Matt Chamberlin (Look him up!)on drums this is definitely a recording to watch for in the near future! Crosby is recording through the iMix in stereo with the M1/Element combo going into two seperate Para D.I.'s. Bob Minner, guitar player with Tim McGraw, plays his M1 equpped Bourgeois guitar on tour recently.

Recently we traveled down to LA to install the iMix system in Rock Legend Robbie Krieger's beautiful Flamenco guitar. Robbies guitar work with the Doors and the most recent "Riders on the Storm" defined a signature sound that is still copied to this day! It was also pretty cool to listen to the band rehearse all those great songs that defined a generation! See "Riders on the Storm" on tour this summer!

Richard Gilewitz's 3 week tour of New Zealand was quite an event and he still can't say enough about his L.R. Baggs Para DI along with the M1 pickups that are installed in both his 6 and 12-string Breedlove guitars. Each venue sported a different sound system, ranging from the state-of-the-art to the not - so - sophisticated, but Richard's unique sound was crystal clear at each date as he precisely dialed in each frequency to where even the Blue Penguins voiced their approval. The dependability of his equipment was of paramount importance as a wide range of settings from an actual World War II Bunker in Auckland/ Devenport to the 150 year old Christ Church in Pukehou were just a few of the varied venues that made up this successful 3rd tour of the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Catch Richard on his upcoming 2008 New Zealand tour as dates will soon be posted. Richard's signature sound and stories ring true to this packed Upstairs Room in Taranaki, New Zealand. |

Yellowcard using M1 pickup
LR Baggs is stoked to announce that Yellowcard is using the M1 pickup in theicoustr aic guitars! We were at the world famous Troubadour in Hollywood, March 31st for there first performance since October of 2006. The band sounded great and really had fun with their dedicated fans that sang along to every song!
The sold out performance was the hottest ticket in LA. The bands guitar tech Ò Joe Carenza III was especially happy with the M1. ÏThe M1 gives RyanÌs guitars such a great clear tone that cuts through when he needs to shred, then blends with the strings when he is doing the rhythm partsÓ. |

Peter Frampton has chosen LR Baggs systems for his new Martin "Camel" Signature D-42. We recently installed a IMIX on his own signature Martin and after getting a chance to play it he called us to let us know how excited he was about the resulting sound. He said, "the combination of the Element and iBeam really brought out the true sound of the instrument" which he loves.
Along with solid tonewoods and classic appointments, the Martin features an inlaid-pearl camel on the headplate and his signature on the fretboard. This design was inspired by the loss of his prized Martin D-45 over 30 years ago that was stolen while on tour. Says Frampton of his new signature edition, " It's new but it already sounds better than my original D-45."
|
Frampton also owns a LR Baggs equipped Langejans guitar and a Gitane with a custom LR Baggs pickup on it.

| Fiddler Darol Anger, guitarist Scott Nygaard and cellist Tristan Clarridge depend on L.R. Baggs Direct EQ to get their direct signals to the house. Darol says, "After years of lugging fancy rack direct units, we always come back to the simplicity and flexibility of these boxes. I see them in everyone else's gear, and they simply work great for us. I've used 3 generations of the EQ Direct now, and they just keep getting better. It's the little giant of live sound- and we even used it to get the cello pickup sound on the new recording!" • Jeff Tweedy with Wilco adopts the M1 as his acoustic pickup of choice. Tweedy's guitar tech, Frank Montuoro, recently informed us here at L.R. • Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina who are rehearsing for their much-anticipated "Sittin' In Again" reunion tour have outfitted their Taylor Guitars with iMix systems as well. Jimmy also will be using a Baggs custom pickup on his mandolin. |
