Thanks, I'll give a try.
I have an I Beam passive that I removed from another guitar and have been thinking about putting in a 40 year old Martin D-35.
I'm wondering if it will sound too boomy. Any thoughts?
I'm thinking of putting one in my Martin OM-18V.
Thanks for the info. Thinking of upgrading to the lyric but the I beam works so well I'm not sure I want to spend the $$$.
My reason for asking about the battery is I currently use an I beam passive run through a Para DI with good results. I was wondering if I installed the Lyric without the battery and run it through...
Does the Lyric require a 9 volt battery?
Also try the 1/4" output.
The LR Baggs Venue DI might be a good choice.
I would go with the Para DI. I have one and it works great.
I've run a K&K through a Para DI with pretty good results.
Opps I thought you said Small body guitar not solid body. My bad.:(
How Small a body? I have an M1A in a Martin 000-15S. and it sounds great. I would think that the M80 would sound even better.
I used a black sharpie on mine :)
Since the M1 active is a humbucking pickup, I would think that would solve your problem.
Haven't really played with really loud volumes causing feedback. It's just the right combination to produce a great sound.
I've been using an M1A run thru a Para DI with excellent results. The sound acoustically is very good.
Bryan, The pickup works fine. It has a great sound and highly feedback resistant.
Thanks for the info. My amp has pots for gain & volume. They are not lineal so the change from 1 to 2 has a greater effect than from 4 to 5. Just trying to make it a little less touchy....
I have an M1A installed in my Martin 000-15S. With the volume on the pickup set at 5 I have to lower my amp volume and gain to 1 to get an moderate overall volume.
I would like to lower...
I think I will lower the other 5. I thinking about 1/8 of a turn to start.
That did the trick. Sucessfully installed. Could not get the clips on the wire. My hands are to big. What a really great sound. I replaced an I beam passive which sounded a little thin in...
Thanks Bryan, I'll give it a try.
I have an I beam,(Passive), and use a Para DI with no problems. Unless the sound guy forgets to mute my guitar when I leave it on the stand.
Bryan, Having a problem fitting it the soundhole. Suggestions? The diameter of the soundhole is 3 13/16'. It is a Martin 000-15S.
Jack, What model Martin? I have one on order for my 000-15S.
