iBeam Active solo system and iBeam/iMix preamp setting?
I used to have just the iBeam active. Have an iMix now.
1. Would like to know what setting on the preamp of the iMix will lead to the closest solo unit iBeam active sound?
Is it for the low cut, full left? Set at 60 and the mid cut, full right or 0?Am not considering feedback right now, just trying to get the basic solo iBeam Active sound with iBeam iMix.
2. Would also like to know for the Element as well.
Does the iMix come originally set up to sound like their counterparts or are they set up differently? I seem to remember my solo iBeam having more bass and it was explained to me in the past that the iMix was set up so that the Element provides the bass and the iBeam, the air and sparkle.
I am just learning how to manage the preamp finally.
I have read the manual and am kinda confused I would really appreciate the clarification
(Gain settings aside) With all knobs on the iMix preamp set to 12 o'clock, and the iBeam Low Cut set all the way down, you will get the sound closest to the sound of the EAS and the iBAS on each side of the blend. This will not be the best blended sound in the majority of cases, but some players prefer to have a different sound from each source rather getting both pickups to work together for a good blend.
For example, you can cut the Mid Cut on the Element, and use the iBeam to cover that range in the blend. Or you can cut some low end out of the iBeam by turning up the Low Cut, and let the Element cover that range in the blend.
Thanks will try this out.
