that's no longer such a bad thing.
Designed to replace the ubiquitous "brand-x"
systems found in many guitars (such as Martin™ and
Taylor™), our retrofit systems pair an all-discrete
class A battery-access preamp (based on the multiple-award-winning
Para D.I.) with the amazing iBeam transducer -- M.I.P.A.'s
Best Pickup for 2002 and 2003. This means you get full
onboard controls (including feedback-killing notch filter)
and the iBeam's incredible fidelity all in one package.
Suddenly, having that hole is starting to look pretty
good.
The seamlessly-integrated preamp battery access houses the
battery in a hidden drawer beneath the preamp fascia, and
opens with a smooth click-lock action. With no modification
to the instrument required for direct retrofits, the preamp
simply drops into the same hole as several other factory-installed
systems with the use of only a small Phillips head screwdriver.
